About Anneke ...

   I'm a closet artist in the sense that I have always done it in private and for myself. By day, I'm an experimental psychologist. But throughout my life, I have turned to art as a way to relax and express my feelings. 

   I love simple shapes - I'm obsessed with circles (Freud would have something to say about that I'm sure ...)! And I love bold, dramatic colours displayed in thick paint. I get inspired by creating new variations of a colour (eg, thousands of 'pinks') and by trying different colours together (eg, 'pink' can look 'purple' next to 'blue'). Over the years, I have come to develop an artistic style that speaks to some. 

   Each of my pieces is an original and I will never make prints or copies of my work. That is why my motto is that everyone deserves an original piece of art. I would make another painting that is similar to work I have already made, but again, that new piece would also be an original.
